I research how behaviours shape and are shaped by complex systems at different scales, e.g. biological, psychological, social, economic, and ecological. This work is intended to inform and support individuals, communities, and organisations aligning habits, identities, and narratives with their goals and needs.
I hold a PhD in Cognitive Science and an MA in Consciousness and Embodiment from University College Dublin, along with a joint BA in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Galway.
Currently, I am a researcher in the Embodied Cognitive Science Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Japan.
My work integrates perspectives from psychology, philosophy of mind, complex systems science, embodied cognition, phenomenology, social anthropology, interactional sociology, and ontological design to support meaningful and sustainable change.
